Every Big Game

Six screens across the pub, every angle covered. When Donegal play, the whole town packs in. When it is the All-Ireland final, Ocean FM sets up and broadcasts live from this bar. This is where Ballyshannon watches sport.

A dedicated stage and a legacy going back decades. Sean Og's was famous across Donegal for its Folk Club, and that tradition lives on. Trad sessions, rock acts, open mic nights. From 10pm on weekends, the stage belongs to the music.

Sports Screenings

Every big match, live

GAA, Premier League, rugby, Champions League. Six screens across the pub so you never miss a moment. Big matches get the full treatment.

Festival Season

Ballyshannon hosts the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival every May and the Folk & Traditional Music Festival every August Bank Holiday. Sean Og's is one of the key venues, with sessions running all weekend.

Val & Maurice's Spiritual Home

Back Where It All Started

Val Murray and Maurice McLaughlin started their careers pulling pints behind this very bar. Years later, they came back to run Sean Og's, calling it their "spiritual home." That is not marketing talk. You can feel it the moment you walk in.

The walls are covered floor to ceiling with photographs, musical instruments, old pots and pans, and decades of local memorabilia. Sean Og's is not just decorated with Ballyshannon's history. It is Ballyshannon's history.

Val manages the Aodh Ruadh senior football team. Maurice is a lifelong Manchester United man. Their sons and daughters work behind the bar. This is a family pub in the truest sense, in Ireland's oldest town, at the birthplace of Rory Gallagher.
